Sin Hin Chuan Kee

About Us

Mr Ng Koon Teng

Sin Hin Chuan Kee was founded in 1965 by Mr Ng Koon Teng. Sin Hin Chuan Kee moved to Kampong Glam after Clyde Street, where its first shop was located, underwent redevelopment in the 1970s. Mr Ng Koon Teng was an immigrant from Quanzhou, China, and saw his business boom in part due to the import and export opportunities that Singapore enjoyed as a trading hub. He died in 2005, aged 79.

Since the 2000s, the younger owners have established an online storefront. Where previously deliveries were done on bicycles, today they are done with Grab cars.

Why choose Sin Hin Chuan Kee?

Established in 1965, Sin Hin Chuan Kee has grown from a humble family-owned trading company to a veritable forerunner in garment, fashion design supplies and sewing accessories. We are proud of the years of diligence, good work ethic and strong relationships with manufacturers. All these have carried Sin Hin Chuan Kee to where it is today: the market’s leading wholesale/retail distributor and importer/exporter of the most trusted brands in garment accessories.

Well-stocked with an abundance of choices in lace, cords, buttons and bows, at Sin Hin Chuan Kee, fashion designers and sewing enthusiasts will find everything and anything to tickle their fantasies and inspire their art. Come and let the extraordinary variety and the rainbow of colors entice you – we’ve been told it is like being a kid again, in a large candy store. With our big selections you can dare to dream big.

Mr Kenny Ng, current owner of Sin Hin Chuan Kee said: “We have had to change, but we continue to sell what we call 10-cent items, small things that don’t give us much of a profit, because they are important to customers. My aunts can tell you how grandmothers would bring their daughters and granddaughters to the shop together. We have grown together with our customers.”
